Andy Lee
Andy has 35 years’ experience within the transport and vehicle maintenance industries. Initially qualifying as a mechanic in the UK before moving to the North of Ireland in 1993 he gained his introduction to the road transport industry with Interland Transport, a freight forwarder based in Antrim town. It was here that Andy gained both his CE licence and his International Transport Manger Certificate of Professional Competence.
In July 1996 Andy moved to Dublin to work for DFDS in Ballymount Industrial Estate as the maintenance supervisor taking responsiblity for the maintenance and repair of the Dublin based fleet. After this he had a number of roles in Dublin which included two years as workshop supervisor at Automotive Services an approved heavy and light goods vehicle test centre. Before Andy became self employed as a CPC trainer and driver, he spent over 10 years as the Service Manager at Dan Ryan Truck Rental.
Over the last ten years Andy has used his industry knowledge to deliver both CPC training and health and safety training courses to a standard that workers in the industry deserve. He is qualified as an RTITB fork lift truck instructor and a QQI registered manual handling instructor. He has driven for a number of Dublin based hauliers and businesses and understands first-hand how the FMCG, warehousing and central distribution industry work. He gained his first ADR qualification in 2017 and has spent the last six years as a part time bulk tanker driver in Calor Gas. Andy also contracts to Irish hauliers as a driver assessor, trainer and compliance officer.
He brings this knowledge and experience into the classroom and values the input of the drivers who have attended his courses.
